Naaman’s healing came when he followed the prophet Elisha’s simple instruction to wash in the Jordan River, despite initially being reluctant. In John 18:1-24, we witness Jesus' arrest and the beginning of His trials. Despite knowing the suffering He would endure, Jesus remained calm and obedient to God's plan. His submission to God's will, even in the face of betrayal and false accusations, serves as the ultimate example of trusting God amid trials.

1 Samuel 21 describes David fleeing from Saul and seeking refuge with Ahimelek the priest. David's quick thinking and reliance on God’s provision help him navigate dangerous situations. This chapter illustrates the necessity of wisdom and resourcefulness in times of crisis.

In 1 Samuel 22, David continues to evade Saul’s relentless pursuit. Despite his fugitive status, he attracts a following of those in distress and debt, who recognize his leadership and wisdom. Despite his fear, David demonstrates unwavering trust in God, acknowledging Him as his refuge and strength in times of trouble. This verse serves as a powerful reminder that even in the face of adversity, we can find courage and strength by placing our trust in God.

John 4:27-42 recounts the Samaritan woman's transformative encounter with Jesus at the well. After her encounter, the woman becomes a bold witness for Him, testifying to her fellow Samaritans about the Messiah. This passage highlights the transformative power of encountering Jesus, as the Samaritan woman's testimony leads many to believe in Him.

In Judges 2:6-23, and 3, we witness the cycle of disobedience, judgment, and redemption that characterizes much of Israel's history during the time of the judges. Despite God's faithfulness in delivering them from their enemies, the Israelites repeatedly turn away from Him, falling into idolatry and sin. As a result, God allows them to face the consequences of their disobedience, yet in His mercy, He raises up judges to deliver them from oppression and lead them back to Himself.

Today, let us reflect on our own trials and fears. Are we putting our trust in God's unfailing word, or are we relying on our own strength and understanding?
