HOW TO GROW IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD - Step One
Wednesday, 6 December 2023
HONOUR GOD WITH YOUR TREASURE
Honour God with your treasure. This means your finances. You can honour God by giving generously and cheerfully to His work and to those in need and not being greedy or stingy.
You can also honour God by being honest and faithful in your financial dealings and not cheating or stealing. See also Malachi 3:10.

HE'S IN CONTROL
When we give our anxieties to God, we are acknowledging that we cannot handle them on our own. We are trusting that He is in control and that He will provide for us. This is a powerful act of faith that can bring us peace and comfort.
Let us take comfort in the words of 1 Peter 5:7 and remember that God cares for us. May we cast our anxieties on Him and find peace in His love.

PROMISE OF RESTORATION
Jeremiah 30:19 is a verse from the Bible that says, "From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will bring them honor, and they will not be disdained" (NIV) . This verse is part of a larger passage in which God promises to restore Israel and Judah from their captivity.
This verse reminds us that God is a God of restoration. He can take what is broken and make it whole again. He can turn our mourning into dancing and our sorrow into joy. We should trust in His promise to restore us and bring us honor.
In conclusion, Jeremiah 30:19 encourages us to trust in God's promise of restoration. May we find hope and joy in His love and faithfulness.

THE SOURCE OF ALL BLESSINGS
The psalmist acknowledges that God is the source of all blessings and that He deserves all the praise and glory. We should remember that everything we have comes from God, and we should be grateful for His provision. We should also strive to live our lives in a way that brings honour and glory to His name.
Let us therefore worship God with humility and gratitude, recognising His love and faithfulness in our lives.

THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER
Talking about the transformative power of Christ's love and grace. When we accept Jesus into our hearts, we are made new. Our old selves, with all their flaws and imperfections, are washed away, and we are given a fresh start.
This verse is a reminder that no matter what we have done in the past, we can always turn to Christ and be made new. We don't have to be defined by our mistakes or shortcomings. Instead, we can be defined by the love of God and the grace that He offers us.
As we go about our lives, let us remember that we are new creations in Christ. Let us strive to live our lives in a way that reflects this truth. Let us love others as Christ loves us, and let us extend grace to those who need it most.
May God bless you on your journey of faith.

REPENT FROM EVIL!
This verse is a warning against the dangers of wickedness and the harm it can cause. It reminds us that those who engage in evil deeds are never at peace and are always restless. They are consumed by their own desires and will stop at nothing to achieve their goals, even if it means causing others to stumble. The good news is that they can never succeed over us because the Lord is the shield and shelter for the righteous.
As Christians, we must strive to live a life that is pleasing to God and avoid the temptation of wickedness. We must be vigilant and guard our hearts against the influence of evil. We must also pray for those who are lost and consumed by their own desires, that they may repent from doing evil and turn to Christ Jesus, that way they will find peace in Christ.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, we thank you for your word and the wisdom it provides. Help us to live a life that is pleasing to you and avoid the temptation of wickedness. We pray for those who are lost and consumed by their own evil desires, that they repent and find peace in Christ. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

WHO DO YOU SAY JESUS CHRIST IS?
![]() |
Bible App @YouVersion.com |
This question is a crucial one for every Christian to answer. It is not enough to know who others say Jesus is. We must know who He is to us personally. Peter's response to Jesus' question was, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God". This confession of faith is the foundation of Christianity. As Christians, we must also be able to answer this question for ourselves. Who do we say Jesus is? Is He just a good teacher or prophet? Or is He the Son of God who came to save us from our sins? Our answer to this question will determine how we live our lives and how we relate to others. In conclusion, Matthew 16:15 reminds us that we must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We must know Him as our Lord and Savior and confess Him as such. Only then can we truly live as His disciples and fulfill His purpose for our lives. |

ZION A LIGHT TO THE NATIONS
These verses 13 to 15 are a turning point in the Book of Psalm, where the Psalmist shifts his focus from his own troubles to God’s promises for Zion. He declares that God will arise and have compassion on Zion, for the time to favor her has come. He says that God’s servants love Zion and care for her, even for her stones and dust. He also prophesies that God’s name and glory will be feared and revered by all the nations and kings of the earth.
They teach us several important truths about God and his people:
First, they remind us that God has a special love and concern for Zion, which is not only a physical place, but also a spiritual reality. Zion represents the people of God, the church of Christ, the heavenly Jerusalem. God has chosen Zion as his dwelling place, his holy habitation, his resting place. He has made a covenant with Zion, to bless her and protect her, to be her God and she his people. He has given Zion a glorious destiny, to be a light to the nations, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.
Second, they assure us that God has a set time to favor Zion, to fulfill his promises and purposes for her. He knows the times and seasons, he has appointed the end from the beginning. He is not slack concerning his promise, but is longsuffering towards us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. He will not forget or forsake Zion, but will arise and have mercy on her in due time. He will restore her fortunes, rebuild her walls, beautify her gates, enlarge her borders. He will make her a praise in the earth, a joy of many generations.
Third, they encourage us to have a heart for Zion, to love her and pray for her. As God’s servants, we should take pleasure in Zion’s stones and favor her dust. We should value every part of Zion, every member of the body of Christ, every stone in the temple of God. We should have compassion on Zion’s afflictions, share in her joys and sorrows, bear one another’s burdens. We should seek Zion’s welfare, work for her peace and prosperity, support her ministry and mission.
Fourth, they inspire us to proclaim God’s name and glory to the world. As God’s witnesses, we should testify of his mighty deeds and marvelous grace in our lives and in history. We should declare his praises and attributes to all people and nations. We should invite them to fear the Lord and worship him alone. We should announce his coming kingdom and judgment to all kings and rulers. We should prepare the way for his return and reign.
Let us therefore pray with the psalmist: “You will arise and have compassion on Zion; for it is time to favor her; yes, the set time has come.” Amen.

THE MEEK WILL GOD GUIDE AND TEACH HIS WAY
Folks, the key to receiving guidance from God is to have a meek and quiet spirit, as His thoughts are higher than ours, Isaiah 55:8. The Bible serves as a guidebook for life, providing instructions and direction.
Developing a consistent pattern of Scripture reading and communing with the Holy Spirit can help maintain the sensitivity of the heart. The benefits of following God's direction include success, prosperity, and protection.
Rising up early in the morning is the best time to hear from God, as He reaches out to those who are willing to listen. Many people throughout history have received major instructions from God during these early hours.
Overall, seeking God's guidance and following His direction can transform an ordinary person into an extraordinary one.
Lord! I receive grace to seek and follow your guidance, Amen.
