Transformed by Grace and Power

Bible verse of the day is Act's 9:15
Dearly Beloved,

Day 314: Chronological Bible in One Year Devotional -

Flowing from Day 313’s powerful account of Stephen’s martyrdom and the scattering of believers, Day 314 unveils how God turned persecution into purpose. The gospel that began in Jerusalem began spreading like wildfire through Judea and Samaria — just as Jesus promised.

In Acts 8, Philip, one of the seven deacons, becomes a vessel of revival in Samaria. Miracles accompanied his ministry; demons fled, and many were healed. The joy that filled the city was evidence of the power of the risen Christ at work through ordinary men filled with the Holy Spirit. Then, in divine orchestration, the Lord led Philip to a desert road to meet an Ethiopian eunuch reading Isaiah. Through obedience and sensitivity to the Spirit, Philip explained the Scriptures and baptized him — marking the gospel’s first step toward Africa.

Meanwhile, in Acts 9, another divine encounter was unfolding — one that would change history. Saul of Tarsus, the fierce persecutor of Christians, met the risen Christ on the road to Damascus. The light of heaven struck him blind, but in his blindness, he finally saw the truth. Jesus revealed Himself as the very One Saul had been fighting against. His transformation from a violent oppressor to a devoted apostle is one of the greatest testaments to God’s mercy and grace.

Through Ananias, an obedient disciple, Saul received sight and was filled with the Holy Spirit. The persecutor became the preacher; the destroyer of faith became its defender. This story reveals that no one is beyond God’s reach and that His grace can turn the worst of sinners into powerful vessels of His glory.

Personal Reflection: Philip’s obedience and Saul’s transformation remind us that God can use anyone, anywhere, at any time. His grace is not limited by our past or by others’ opinions. Like Philip, We must be ready to go where He sends us; like Saul, we must yield completely to His call.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your transforming grace. Change my heart and use my life as a vessel for Your glory. Help me to obey Your voice like Philip and surrender fully like Saul. Let Your light shine through me to bring salvation and hope to others. Amen.
