Sustained by Heaven, Strengthened Together

Exodus 17:15 is the Bible verse of the day
Dearly Beloved,

Day 26: Chronological Bible Story in One Year Plan

Opening Scene

The songs of victory fade into the heat of the wilderness. Hunger gnaws, thirst rises, and complaints replace praise. Freedom is real—but so is the challenge of trusting God daily.

The Story Unfolds

In Exodus 16, the people grumble against Moses, longing for Egypt’s food. God responds not with anger, but provision. Manna falls from heaven each morning—daily bread that must be gathered in trust. On the sixth day, a double portion appears, teaching Israel to honor God’s rhythm of rest.

In Exodus 17, water flows from a struck rock at Horeb, proving again that God supplies in impossible places. Soon after, Amalek attacks. As Moses lifts his staff, Israel prevails; when his arms fall, they weaken. Aaron and Hur support him, revealing that victory often depends on shared strength.

In Exodus 18, Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, offers wise counsel. Leadership, he says, should be shared. Overburdened leadership weakens everyone. Moses listens, structures the people, and peace returns to the camp.

Spiritual Insight

God supplies daily, not always in excess. Victory requires dependence—on God and on others. Wisdom grows when humility allows counsel.

Life Application

Learn to trust God for today’s needs without anxiety for tomorrow. Accept help, seek counsel, and walk in God’s design for community and rest.

Prayer

Provider and Sustainer, thank You for daily bread and living water. Teach me to rely on You and to value the strength of godly relationships. Help me walk in wisdom, humility, and rest. Amen.

Challenge for the Day

Identify one area where you’ve been carrying a burden alone. Pray today and intentionally seek godly support or counsel.
