Prepared for Purpose

1 Chronicles 28:20
Dearly Beloved,

Day 124: Chronological Bible in One Year Devotion:

David’s final days were not spent idly reminiscing but in strategic preparation for the future of God’s people. In 1 Chronicles 26, 27, and 28, we see a well-structured handover: the gatekeepers, treasurers, officers, and army commanders were assigned; the nation was organized; and most importantly, Solomon received the divine blueprint for the temple.

David didn’t just pass on a crown—he passed on a calling. He charged Solomon to be strong and courageous, assuring him that God would be with him. David reminded Solomon that the plans for the temple came from the Spirit of God. This was not a human design, but a heavenly vision.

In our lives, God calls us to be prepared—not just for the work ahead, but also for passing the baton to others. Whether it’s leadership, ministry, or family legacy, we are called to be faithful stewards and builders. David’s story reminds us that divine assignments require divine wisdom, boldness, and obedience.

You may not be building a physical temple, but you are part of building God's Kingdom. Follow His plans with courage and humility, and trust that He who called you will also guide you.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the divine purpose You’ve placed in my life. Help me to walk in courage, plan with wisdom, and serve with faithfulness. Let Your Spirit guide my hands and heart to build what will glorify You and bless others. Strengthen me to fulfill my calling with joy and diligence. In Jesus' name, Amen.
