Day 69: Chronological Bible Story in One Year Plan
Opening Scene
Moses is gone. The weight of leadership now rests on Joshua’s shoulders. Before him stands a nation waiting, behind him lies a wilderness journey of forty years. Ahead flows the Jordan River—full and overflowing. The moment of promise has arrived.
The Story Unfolds
In Joshua 1, God speaks directly to Joshua with words that will echo through generations: “Be strong and courageous.” The same God who guided Moses promises to guide him. Success will not come from strength alone but from constant meditation on God’s Word.
In Joshua 2, Joshua secretly sends two spies into Jericho. There they meet Rahab, a woman who recognizes that Israel’s God is the true God. She hides the spies and asks for mercy when the city falls. Her faith becomes a surprising doorway into God’s unfolding plan.
In Joshua 3, the moment of crossing arrives. The priests step into the rushing waters of the Jordan River carrying the Ark of the Covenant. As their feet touch the water, the river stops flowing, and the people cross on dry ground—just as their parents once crossed the Red Sea.
In Joshua 4, Joshua commands twelve stones to be taken from the riverbed and set up as a memorial. When future generations ask about them, the story of God’s power must be told again.
