The children of Israel started their journey to the Canaan land after God might have wrought his last assault to the Egyptians, through a very long route with God leading them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. When they got to the Red Sea, on seeing there was no other escape route for them, they became soar afraid but Moses, God's servant encouraged them not to be afraid that surely they would see the salvation of God and that actually came to pass for immediately Moses raised his staff and stretched out his hand over the sea, lo and behold, the sea parted and the people of Israel were saved.
Moses did according to Proverbs 4:20, our Bible passage for today, by attending to God's word and inclining his ear into God's saying to use his staff wisely, this sea parted and himself and the children of Israel were able to move over to the other side.
The same way the sea parted, the veil in the temple was rent in twain as soon as Jesus yielded up the ghost, and the graves were also opened that many bodies of the saints which slept arose.
