From the above
passages in Genesis, Jacob later understood the importance of seeking God’s
help in what he wanted to do. That’s trying to make peace with his brother,
Esau. He prayed earnestly for help from God, which pacified the whole fear of his
life that Esau could hurt him and his household. Going further, in a bid to
securing his destiny, he wrestled with a man and prevailed.
I guess after
Jacob prayed, wisdom entered unto his heart which made discretion to preserve him
and then him and his brother understood exactly their mistakes and leveled up
again and their relationship was restored back and kept, Proverbs 2:10-11. At the altar of prayer, Jacob’s words were justified,
Matthew 12:37. He was sincerely fed up with enslaving himself for another man
and at the end his heart desires to go back to his fatherland was justified and
he came back victoriously.
This is exactly what
God expects from us, not to go weary but tarry on the altar of prayer until our
change comes.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, please help me to tarry in your presence
till my change comes and not hurrying you up, Amen.
